Say This, Not That · Persuasion
End your presentation like this
"If we agree today, here's what happens next." Make the next step feel safe.
Don't end your presentation with: "So, do you want it?"
Say this instead: "If we agree today, here's what happens next." Then walk them through it. Who does what. What onboarding looks like. When it starts.
You haven't even asked for a yes. You just made the next step feel safe.
Then finish with: "Is there anything stopping us from starting on the first?"

More on persuasion
- Tuesday or Thursday? How to book the meetingTwo options instead of "shall we or shall we not".
- Gold or silver? Never ask a yes-or-no questionGive two options where both answers are a purchase.
- The reverse no: the easiest way to get a yesIt's easier to say no than yes. So ask a question where "no" means "go ahead".
